Using Encapso K to create a realistic seascape display

This video demonstrates using Smooth-On’s Encapso K to create a realistic seascape display. Encapso K is a soft, clear silicone rubber that perfectly simulates water. Not only is it easy to use, it is also very safe. Unlike similar products, it generates no heat and no toxic fumes while curing. For more encapsulation and display ideas using Encapso K, please see our other videos.

DIY Multitouch display: complete test of new compliant surf.

Checkout www.diniro.net ! This short video shows the test I made some days ago with the “new” compliant surface made of the usual silicone rubber plus the sketch paper. This time I arranged to have a video projector in order to make a complete test. There are still some problems regarding the stickyness of the silicone I used, this is causing visible trays after the finger touches and the software is confused by this trays that are recognized as other touches. Check it out!

DIY Multitouch display: silicone rubber layer test

Checkout www.diniro.net This is a short video about the first test I made with the silicone rubber layer that I made on the plexiglass. Unfortunately it seems that it is not improving the coupling beetween the plexiglass and the rear projection film as I was expecting. In this test I try 2 different kind of projection surface: the Peroni Panorama that was kindly offered by Peroni itself and the Rosco Grey that was sent to me by Gravano from the nuigroup.com. At the end of the video you can see that just the nails tip touches are slightly visible, perhaps I just need more IR light by adding more IR leds or better polishing the plexiglass edge… I’ll find the solution!
