First-hand tips on working with fiberglass

Using a resin and woven threads of glass, also known as fiberglassing, is a very useful and relatively easy way to build larger structures. Fiberglassing is used when making boat hulls, water slides, and many other everyday items.

This Instructable features some ideas from a guy who builds stuff from fiberglass on how you can more easily work with the materials and achieve better results. He recommends things such as mixing the epoxy resin in small batches and using vacuum bagging to remove air pockets, which can kill the strength of the finished product.

  1. I have always struggled working with fiberglass. It is so hard to achieve the exact results I want. These articles are a great source to use that will hopefully help me in the future get what I want out of my work.
